​​The Parma Hunger Center is a local community outreach food pantry serving residents in Parma, Ohio.
We are located at 5280 Broadview Rd., Parma, Ohio, inside Parma Lutheran Church. The entrance to the Hunger Center is in the back of the church near the parking lot on the side closest to Tuxedo Ave.
Registrants no longer enter the building for food selection, but instead should stay in their cars in a formed line in the parking lot. Hunger Center volunteers will distribute the pantry items to each car.

Volunteers needed!
Parma Hunger Center, a ministry of Parma Lutheran, is in great need of some helping hands!!! We need someone to answer the cell phone, schedule clients and produce a simple spread sheet whether in good handwriting or over the computer. This person will have the cell phone at their own home, may set their own call schedule, sign up our clients into time slots for distribution and produce a schedule be given to the HC on Tuesday and/or Friday AM.
We need someone to be a door person on Tuesday from 1-4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. This person will take the names of the clients arriving and compare them to the schedule. This person could also input the information in the computer (Fridays). *this could be the same person or 2-3 different people
We also need people willing to move large boxes into cars during distribution. Tuesday 1-4 and Friday 9-12.​ Please consider volunteering in one of these needed roles. Call the Church Office if you can help. We will train anyone that is willing to give it a try.

Q. When was the Hunger Center established?
A. The Hunger Center was established in 1969 by Jim and Evelyn Minard of PLC and became chartered by the Hunger Network in 1984.
Q. What is the connection of the Hunger Center to Parma Lutheran Church?
A. The Parma Hunger Center is an outreach ministry of Parma Lutheran Church.
Q. Who is eligible to receive food pantry items?
A. Only residents of the city of Parma with a total household income below the Federal guidelines are eligible to receive food pantry items.
Q. What proof of residency or other items do I need when I check in?
A. Upon check-in, please be prepared to have an ID that shows your address is within the city of Parma.
Q. When is the Hunger Center open?
A. The Hunger Center is open Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Q. Do I need to make an appointment? How do I pre-register?
A. Yes! You must make an appointment before every visit. Please call 216-316-5772 on a Monday, Wednesday or Thursday, and you will be assigned a time slot to come. Please do not call on Tuesday or Friday as the center is very busy on those days.
Q. Generally what type of food pantry items can I expect to receive? Is fresh produce available?
A. You can expect a large variety of canned, boxed and bottled food, chicken and other meats and fresh produce as available from the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. Also an assortment of non-food items as available, such as laundry and dish soap, toothpaste, deodorant, and more.
Q. How many items generally will I receive?
A. The quantity of items one receives varies based on family size, though you can expect approximately an eight day supply of food.
Q. How often am I able to visit and receive food pantry items from the Hunger Center?
A. You may visit once per month. You must call and register before every visit.
Q. How has the Hunger Center impacted local families?
A. In the quarter from January 1, 2024 through March 31, 2024, the Hunger Center served 811 families comprised of 2,310 individuals.
Q. Where do the food pantry items come from?
A. Most of the food pantry items at the Hunger Center come from the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. The Hunger Center receives a large truck delivery every Tuesday morning. Many donations come from both individuals and organizations as well.
Q. May I drop off items to donate to the Hunger Center?
A. Yes! The best times to drop off donations are Tuesdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. or Friday mornings between 9 am and Noon. PLEASE check the dates on any food items.
