GET to KNOW US!
Parma Lutheran Church is family in Christ. When you enter through the doors of our church home you will be greeted as family. Whether you are a long-time Christian, regardless of denomination or non-denomination, or seeking to learn more about Jesus and God’s grace and love, you are welcome among us. As society becomes more polarized, our identity is rooted in Christ and not by a political ideology.
As family in Christ, we strive to live by Jesus’ example and his command to love others as he first loved us. Like the apostle Paul writes in his letter to the Romans (7:21-25), we too acknowledge that we are simultaneously sinner and saint, which means we don’t always get it right. We recognize that we as forgiven sinners are set free to welcome all people without judgement and to forgive others as we ourselves are so graciously forgiven. Come among us to worship and experience the gospel of God’s forgiveness, grace, acceptance, peace, and joy, and join us in fellowship to live the Christian faith in ministry and outreach!
One of our Parma neighbors called us, “The Church on the Corner Doing Good Things.” We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and a member of the Northeastern Ohio Synod. We welcome, accept and love all people in the name of Jesus Christ. Come see for yourself and grow in faith with us!

CELEBRATING HOLY COMMUNION
We celebrate Holy Communion at both the Wednesday evening and Sunday morning worship services. Jesus is our host who invites his baptized followers to come to his Table. We Lutheran-Christians believe in the Real Presence of Christ in the bread and wine (or grape juice) we eat and drink. Regardless of your denomination or non-denomination, you are welcome at the Lord’s Table. If you will come, you may come!

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
We seek to be kind, accepting, and forgiving. Here is a place to grow in faith and put our faith in to practice as the Spirit leads us in various church ministries and community outreach, such as the Parma Hunger Center. There is a place for you among us to serve or to seek to know God in Christ, and learn what it means to follow Jesus in today’s society.

A PLACE TO GROW IN FAITH
Here you may find a church home for families who want to raise their children to know God loves them and welcomes them into God’s family. We have an active Youth Group where children truly enjoy coming to church to play, learn, and gather together. They also enjoy the children’s time during Sunday worship where the correct answer to pretty much every question the pastor asks them is "Jesus Loves You!" Young or young-at-heart may find their church home among us here at PLC.

Get to know Pastor Jay!
When we started our call for a new pastor, we sought “a shepherd, pastor, leader, and innovator; who will assist us in facing the challenges of a changing community; who will minister to their flock; who will help us remain faithful to our church and community; and who will bring joy and excitement to their ministry.”

The Holy Spirit answered our call and sent us Rev. Jeffrey Scott Plummer, affectionately known as Pastor Jay, in the Fall of 2021.
Pastor Jay served 22 years as a Navy Chaplain and is a two-time Iraq War veteran having deployed with the U.S. Marines and U.S.Army. He served Sailors and Marines numerous times at sea and did two tours to Okinawa with the Navy’s construction workers, the Seabees.
He and his spouse, Melanie, were stationed in Iceland for three years where he served as the Lutheran-Episcopal pastor/priest. He also served as the Ninth Coast Guard District Chaplain homeported in downtown Cleveland. It was then when Pastor Jay and Melanie were introduced to the metro-Cleveland area and made northeast Ohio home.
Pastor Jay describes himself as a practical theologian. His preaching and teaching are conversational in style, helping us understand God’s Written Word and allowing us to apply and live it to empower our lives and strengthen our faith to face life’s challenges.
