Holy Communion is celebrated each week at both services. All baptized Christians are welcome to participate in Holy Communion, regardless of church affiliation. We believe that Jesus Christ is truly present in the bread and wine. By partaking of this meal, our sins are forgiven and we are strengthened and nourished in God’s love. Anyone that comes forward and wishes not to receive communion will receive a blessing. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the wine for Communion will not be offered. The Body and Blood of Jesus is fully contained under the form of the bread wafer.

Ash Wednesday Worship & Lenten Midweek Offering
by ZOOM - 7:00 pm Feb 17 – March 24
“Watching the Disciples - Learning from Their Mistakes”
From the publisher, Abingdon Press: “This Lenten study looks at the twelve disciples as they tried to follow Jesus and live the challenging life to which he had called them. Examining the mistakes of the Twelve can help us to assess our own discipleship in order to see where it may need strengthening. During these weeks of Lent, as we join the Twelve in their on-the-job-training to become disciples of Jesus, we hope to find guidance for our pilgrimage.”
The study is written by Mary Jane Gorman, a writer, teacher, and retreat leader living in Greenville, South Carolina and a former professor of economics at Furman University. She has served on the board of United Ministries, a nonprofit community organization, and is a leader in First Baptist Church, Greenville.
The study will be offered on Wednesday in the morning at 11am, and again in the evening at 7pm, over Zoom, both facilitated by Dan Zaranec.

Families with Young Children - You are Welcome in Worship! We welcome children and babies into our Worship!
There are "busy bags" readily available to any young member to be used during service. They are packed with "quiet" activities to help our youngest participants occupied during service. During these strange times, the busy bags are for you to take home each week to help eliminate germs. Each one has a small activity that goes along with our VBS that will be held in the winter or next year. We also have a room for nursing and bottle feeding mothers on the 2nd Floor Ladies bathroom lounge. During Sunday morning service, a special message to the children is shared. The nursery is temporarily closed due to the virus pandemic. Otherwise, the church nursery is staffed by two adult volunteers who have satisfactorily completed the Safe Guarding God's Children church policy including a background check. If interested in getting more information on Safe Guarding God's Children, please click HERE to go to our Governance page. |
